The CIPFA Police Advisory Network in Scotland
The CIPFA Police Advisory Network in Scotland holds workshops specifically focused on issues and policies affecting Scottish police forces.
At the workshops, we provide updates on strategic policing issues and on wider developments in modernising government of relevance to the Police Service. Speakers include practitioners who share information about local initiatives, and representatives of the Scottish Executive, HMIC Scotland and Audit Scotland, who provide delegates with the latest information available on national initiatives.
Core Themes for 2008/09
Our programme of events for 2008/09 has been carefully considered, based on current issues facing the Police Service, and includes:
- Getting the Most out of HMIC Audits and Self-Assessment
June 2008
- Matching Resources to Performance
August 2008
- Performance Management: developing indicators for softer measures
December 2008
- Performance Management, Continuous Improvement and the Role of Scrutiny
March 2009
For more detailed information, please refer to the Service Plan 2008 attached at the top of this page.
The network also provides bulletins, containing write-ups of sessions and analyses of documents and reports relating to police forces in England, Wales and Scotland. In 2006/07, we will be issuing four bulletins and ad hoc analyses of Government policy documents and HMIC reports. We will also send out e-alerts on issues affecting police forces and requests from other forces for information. The Police Advisory Network website will be re-launched to include a chat room facility for members of the network to discuss matters affecting forces/authorities at a practical level.
Subscriptions to the Police Advisory Network in Scotland run from 1st April – 31st March. For more information on subscribing, please contact:
