The Emergency Budget 2010: Summary and analysis

On 22 June 2010, George Osborne, the youngest Chancellor of the Exchequer for more than a century, gave his first Budget speech. It was the most significant Budget for many years and will have a major impact on public services, although we will need to wait until after the autumn spending review for details of specific departmental reductions and how these might be passed down to local agencies.

Nevertheless, this briefing sets out some of the Chancellor's key points, and analyses their implications for public sector managers.
