About

Established as the CIPFA Euro Forum in 1999, the CIPFA Euro Advisory Service (CEAS) maintains awareness on the euro and on planning issues for a currency changeover amongst local authorities in the United Kingdom. For 2007/08 the CEAS offers a service integrated with CIPFA’s Technical Information Services (TIS).

The CEAS continues to maintain euro awareness by providing quarterly briefings on UK euro entry developments, accession country updates, news and documentation. At the same time, it operates in tandem with the TISonline European Union information stream to offer a broad range of guidance and information on European Union policies and programmes as they relate to the public services in the UK.

TISonline European Union coverage includes procurement and competition, regional policy and associated funding, education and training, environment, transport and personnel.

Also made available to all members of the service, is CIPFA’s comprehensive Guidance and Planning Template. CIPFA believes the euro is a business issue, which local authorities should consider as part of their normal risk management activities. The template will assist any public organisation in planning a euro changeover programme.

If you wish to subscribe to the CEAS, please contact the Technical Information Services:
