How to improve your score against KLOE 3.1: A practical guide to sustainability reporting and improving use of natural resources
Thursday, February 18, 2010
In January 2010, the CIPFA Performance Improvement Network held two workshops on Sustainability reporting: How to improve your score against KLOE 3.1. The events looked at approaches to sustainability reporting in the context of use of resources judgements that local public sector organisations are subjected to under Comprehensive Area Assessment. As a result, it focuses mostly on environmental issues, since they form the basis of Key Line of Enquiry (KLOE) 3.1 – although sustainability reporting has traditionally incorporated social measures as well.
This paper draws together the key outputs from the workshops to help practitioners improve their organisations’ scores against Key Line of Enquiry 3.1 in the use of resources assessment, and highlights the role that sustainability reporting can play in this process.
