The Police Finance Advisory Network (Police FAN) provides police finance professionals with practical, relevant and up-to-date advice during a period of unprecedented public service reform. The network focuses on legislative developments, Government policy and strategic policing issues that have implications for police finance professionals in forces and authorities. It offers support to members in considering the issues involved and what needs to be done to facilitate the implementation of new initiatives and legislative requirements. The network also considers issues of financial management in order to identify and share good practice.
It achieves this through the effective briefing of its members at quarterly series of workshops, with regular speakers from HMIC, Home Office representatives and finance practitioners as well as IPF’s finance and police advisers. Members of the network can attend these workshops free of charge using the delegate places they purchase as part of their subscription. They also receive information via feedback documents and e-mail alerts.
In addition, membership of Police FAN includes access to events held by the Finance Advisory Network and to the wide range of documentation available on the FAN website, including briefing documents, feedback documents and Rough Guides. Membership of the Police FAN runs from 1 September to 31 August.
