CIPFA Training and Development
Certificate in Investigative Practice Qualification
Investigate with best practice standards
Numerous public sector organisations employ personnel to carry out civil, criminal, and regulatory investigations. It is essential that these investigations are carried out to best practice standards.
In response to this, CIPFA has established a qualification providing investigators with the essential legal knowledge, expertise and skills to carry out an investigation professionally and to secure relevant and admissible evidence.
Course content
The training, through classroom style face-to-face tuition, together with pre and post course reading examines relevant legislation, procedures and rules of evidence that impact on everyday work.
The programme provides a structured development path for personnel with an investigative role, giving them the necessary competencies to carry out their work effectively, through 12 classroom days.
What are the course benefits?
- Gain a clear insight into the legal framework within which an investigator should operate.
- Learn and apply best practice standards in interviewing, collecting and recording evidence, writing statements and giving evidence in the witness box.
Who is the course aimed at?
Public sector staff with a regulatory, investigative, enforcement, or prosecution role whose position involves the scrutiny or audit of regulatory matters where evidence of civil breaches or criminal offences may become evident.
